How many sheets a job needs and how to get more out of each one.
Updated on October 5, 2026
Nesting fits parts onto the sheet by each part's real shape, curves and holes included, and tells you how many sheets the job needs. KineIA analyzes the layout and suggests what saves more material. Everything runs in your browser: your drawings never leave your computer.
How to nest
In the left menu, click Nesting.
Drag the DXF files into the parts list (several at once) and enter the quantity of each.
On the right, enter the sheet length, width and thickness, the material and the spacing between parts.
Choose the rotation and the search: Fast finishes in seconds (it grows with the number of parts); Precise searches longer and usually saves more.
Click Nest.
How to read the result
Sheets needed shows every sheet in the job; click one to see its layout.
Utilization is the area of the parts over the area of the sheet. The usable offcut is shown dashed.
Sheet weight and cost come from the material and the price per kg; the cost is split among the parts by the area of each.
KineIA Analysis points out a weak last sheet, when the Precise search is worth it and when the part spacing is larger than needed.
Download sheet DXF gives you the cutting plan; PDF report prints every sheet.
