What goes into the calculation
Cut and pierces
Both ends and the outline of each hole; one pierce per end and per hole.
Weight from the section
Outer area minus inner, times the length and the material density.
Same rules as laser
Machine hour, minimum charge, setup, material per kg, taxes and your preset's margin.
Bars, chuck and offcuts
Bars of 6, 8 or 12 m or your own length, chuck dead zone deducted, common-line cut between straight ends and leftovers stored as offcuts for the next nesting.
Frequently asked questions
Does it quote U, C, L, H and I profiles?+
Yes: U channel, C channel, angle, H beam and I beam by their sizes, with weight per meter, end cuts (square or bevel), holes on the web and flanges, and bar nesting.
Can I upload a 3D file of the tube?+
Yes: in the Tube item, open a STEP or IGES file. The part is read in the browser without uploading the file, shows up in 3D, and the section, dimensions, length and the holes and cutouts of a straight part fill in the item, which stays editable. Curved or bent parts are not recognized yet.
Which plan is it on?+
From Max, and in the free trial. On Pro the item does not appear.
