The CAD draws flat cut parts, in millimetres: line, rectangle, circle and arc, snapping to endpoints and the grid. Fillet, Chamfer and Trim fix corners; Measure shows the distance between two points. Under Ready-made part, a plate with corners and holes or a flange comes out by size.
In the left menu, click CAD. Pick the tool (or the letter: L line, REC rectangle, C circle, A arc) and click on the drawing. Select a line or a circle to type exact measurements on the right. Click Quote this part, or Send to Nesting. Tip
It works like well-known CAD programs: type the AutoCAD command (REC, TR, M, CO, RO, MI, O) and Enter, or a coordinate (x,y · @dx,dy · @distance<angle). F8 turns on ortho, F3 snap, Enter repeats the last command, right-click confirms, and dragging left to right selects by window. The ? key shows every shortcut.
Note
The drawing is kept in this browser. Open DXF brings a drawing in to edit; Download DXF saves what is on screen. ⌘Z undoes.
Tip
More AutoCAD commands: POL (polygon), EX (extend), SC (scale), AR (array), ARRAYPOLAR, X (explode) and J (join). Trim also cuts circles and arcs. Hover over a tool to see what it does and its shortcut. Snap finds endpoint, midpoint, center, quadrant, intersection, perpendicular and tangent.
Tip
Text (T): type in the right panel, pick one of the 12 fonts and the letter height in mm, and click where the baseline starts. The letters become cut contours (not engraving). With stencil fonts, the centers of O, A and B stay attached by bridges.
Tip
Maximize: the MAXIMIZE button on the bottom bar, next to FIT (or Ctrl+0), opens the CAD across the whole screen for more room to draw. The same button turns into MINIMIZE; Esc also goes back.
Tip
Part center: hover over a circle or a closed shape (rectangle, polygon, part) and its center is marked; with snap on, the click lands right on it — for example, to put a hole in the middle of a plate.
Tip
Properties palette, as in AutoCAD: at the top, the type of what is selected and the Quick select funnel (QSELECT or QS) — open, small, similar, inner, outer or by type. The Drawing category counts open contours (red in the drawing), overlapping lines and self-intersecting contours; AUDIT reports this on the command line and selects the problems. Fix drawing (OVERKILL or OV) deletes dots and duplicates, joins gaps smaller than the tolerance and turns round polylines back into circles.
Tip
Contour cuts: Break (BR) splits the contour at the clicked point. Micro-joint (MJ) leaves small gaps that hold the part in the sheet — choose the gap and how many; the pieces go on the MICROJUNTA layer, so the quote knows the gap is intentional. Bend relief (AD) cuts a fan of the chosen radius at the corner so the bend does not tear. In Text, Bridges (mm) keeps the inside of O, A, B attached in any font.
Tip
Arrange and shapes: with something selected, the Geometry category of the Properties palette shows X, Y, width and height in mm (with Keep proportions), rotate and scale; with two or more, it aligns and distributes with equal gaps. POLAR (F10) pulls the stroke to 15°, 30°, 45° or 90°. Polyline (PL) draws a single contour, with tangent arcs (A); there are also Ellipse (EL) and Star (EST). On a part with identical copies, tick Change identical ones too to edit them all at once.
